Review from guests who has cruised with us is a true reflection on what we have done. The Au Co considers guests reviews as a base which help us to rectify what is not good enough and also as encouragement for our crew. True guest reviews are available here for your references. Listen to what people say about their experience and prepare to get your own.
The boat is only 4 years old and maintained in excellent condition. On the whole the food was very good and the trip was well planned and executed. The bay is beautiful and the trips to caves and floating fishing village a highlight. You can read about it on their website but I will say it's "as advertised. Even the hotel to departure point was in a luxurious small coach
A recommander forcément.
The whole team of Auco 3 days cruise went out of their ways to provide our group of 8 best time. Most of us are strictly vegetarians and the manager of the cruise Joy made sure we receive variety within our diet requirements. The creative culinary experience is unforgettable. The crew took us to secret caves, floating fisherman villages, kayaking. The decor, room comfort, cleanliness, recreation activities, spa massage, and staff assistance made our three days highlight of the trip to South Asia.
So relaxing - very 'colonial' feel about the boat and the service was fantastic. Yes, it's not 5 stars, but that was made up for by the friendliness of the staff (from the welcome to the farewell) and our 3 day 2 night cruise was wonderful. Lovely to wake up to see those limestone islands just outside your balcony.
Vengo encantada de Vietnam, de su gente, de sus paisajes. El crucero por la bahía de Halong de película, qué pena que sólo dure una noche
We recently went on a 21 day Vietnam Cambodia holiday, part of the holiday was a 3 day 2 night Halong Bay cruise. We had a fantastic time relaxing and cruising around the islands. The staff and the tour guide could not do enough for us, nothing was a problem, no matter how big or small. My partner and I were very disappointed with the rubbish in the bay but that was the only dark spot on the cruise. Laying on the sun deck watching the sun set one night and watching an amazing thunderstorm moving around the bay the next night is something I will always remember. Thank you for an amazing cruise.
I cannot speak highly enough of the service, smiles, day tours, on board experiences, we did the 3 day tour with Ms Joy the cruise director and her staff on the Au Co 2. Can honestly say it was the highlight of the trip, we've never had staff go out of their way so much to provide you with a fabulous experience you'll remember forever.
From the allergy information asked when we boarded, to make sure the chef prepare something suitable and always delicious, to waking up with Tai Chi in the mornings on the top deck, to the lively chats at the bar during happy hour, where you can ask for a traditional cuban mojito and be pleasantly surprised. Each staff member went out of their way to make sure your personal experience was one of a kind, no matter how many passengers are on board.
I was blessed enough to celebrate my birthday with them, was surprised beyond words with a birthday cake made especially for me, with the staff singing to me and then more by arriving at my cabin and seeing flower petals on my bed, with a note a couple of decorative swans (towels) and a gift from the staff and crew.
The private cabin was fantastic, with our own balcony.
Make sure you try everything they have to offer, on board and on excursions no matter what the weather... and sample every kind of tea they make, take the time to talk to the staff... They are the reason the beautiful Ha Long Bay cruise will be something I'll never forget... and will definitely go back to share with them once more.
We very much enjoyed our 2 night, 3 day Auco cruise. We were in one of the suites at the front of the boat. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. Our cabin was comfortable and we appreciated the cruise ship having air conditioning in the accommodation and restaurant.
We enjoyed the food on the cruise and the service was excellent: all the staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive.
We chose to fly the seaplane from Hanoi instead of going by road and we enjoyed seeing the aerial views of Halong Bay from the plane on the way to the cruise ship. Also it was much quicker than the trip by road. We didn't see the sun much and sometime the bay was a little hazy but the scenery was spectacular nevertheless. A week or so before the cruise we received an email with a revised itinerary saying we could not visit Cat Ba Island due to a local regulation change. That was a bit disappointing but we enjoyed all the off-ship activities that were included with our cruise. Surprise Cave was spectacular, the kayaking through caves was great fun and we liked seeing the monkeys on the last day in the sheltered area only reachable by rowboat through a grotto. And I enjoyed the cooking demonstration and fruit carving demonstration on the ship.
Had the most incredible cruise with Au Co in Halong Bay in November this year. One of those I will never forget moments. The executive cabins , the high quality food, the activities and the 10/10 customer service made this trip, so I recommend it to you.
Great staffs, foods excellent. Boat great. Nice place for activities.
Our group of four were on the cruise Nov 10 - Nov 12. Everything we experienced, from the air-conditioned & nice upper floor waiting lounge to the drum-roll welcome on boarding, activities, tours, food, and service were unforgettable. Staff were incredibly helpful, friendly & professional. Cabins were spacious enough and clean; towels were constantly replenished. We were provided with disposable raincoats while out on a tour one time. Very thoughtful of the crew. Visiting the wheel house, engine room and kitchen was quite interesting. We were part of that 19 people on the cruise. I totally agree with the rave reviews already posted. My only suggestion is to let some of us choose half portions for our meals. I simply could not finish all the excellent food at the sit-down meals. Learned a lot from the Vietnamese traditional tea ceremony. Bought local Vietnamese tea to take home and absolutely love it. We have tea from China and Taiwan at home but the taste of this tea is most pleasantly different.
I travelled with my 13 year old daughter on a 2 night cruise and we booked into the Au Co suite which is the biggest the boat has to offer. If your budget allows I highly recommend you upgrading as it was well worth it. From the moment you check in to the moment you disembark you'll be thoroughly spoilt. They offer a fantastic itinerary that will suit young and old. From the buffet breakfast to the five course lunch and dinners you won't go hungry, the food is magnificent. We even managed to fit in a massage each day in the spa followed by a jacuzzi. I found the staff to be very helpful and they certainly went out off their way to help make our stay more comfortable in any way they could. Overall we had the most incredible few days exploring Halong Bay aboard the Au Co and if your considering a junk boat cruise I would suggest you book with this company.
