BBC World Made a Film Report on Cruise Safety in Halong Bay

On 28th October 2011, The Au Co proudly welcomed Ms. Carmen Roberts from BBC world news on board. Being famous for her reports on travel industry and especially the BBC’s Fast Track program which she is presenting and directing, Ms. Roberts visited Vietnam and Halong Bay to make a film report on tourists’ safety in Halong Bay.

As The Au Co aims to be the safest boat in the Gulf of Tonkin, the construction site, Z189 shipyard in Haiphong, was a necessary stop to show Ms. Roberts the company's commitments to develop safety standards. Indeed, The Auco will be the first boat in this area to reach this level of safety as every single piece of the boat, down to the screws and cables, has been carefully selected and certified by a group of expert.

Ms. Carmen Roberts also stopped at Bai Chay harbor, the biggest tourism harbor in Halong Bay where she interviewed Mr. Armand Cheveux, Business Development Manager of The Au Co company, on safety issues on Halong Bay, improvements on the quality of the boats, safety procedures and equipments that have been made over the past few months. Mr. Cheveux also shared some helpful advice for travelers related to this issue.
The report will be on air in early December 2011 and the link will be available on this page. If you have any question about The Au Co project or the safety in Halong Bay, please contact
